More about the Inn

All our 24 rooms have own bathroom and cable TV.
There is free WiFi through out the Inn.
Other ameneties include a large fireplace Lounge, Hot Tub, Reading Lounge, swimming pool and fire pit in the summer months.
After an exciting day of activities or touring, come back and relax in our 'Hot Tub' (Closed June, July, August.) or sit by our newly installed Fire Pit (Open May - September).
Chill out by our outdoor Swimming Pool.(Open June, July, August )or sit back in our comfortable Lounge next to our BYOB (bring your own beverage) bar with ice and soda machines, refridgerator and microwave. The games area has pinball and retro computer games as well as chess, cards and a mini pool table. Later you might want to enjoy one of West Dovers many Restaurants and Bars or catch a new movie at our 3 screen local Cinema.
The shuttle bus, The Moover, is also free and runs from the Inn to the Mountain and back the other way to Wilmington.
The large parking lot provides space for 30 cars, numerous motorbikes and buses .

History

The Kitzhof Inn was built in 1958 in an Alpine style by the original owner who had many children and wanted to call the Inn the Kids House. He skied a lot in Austria and thought because he biult it in an Austrian style it would be cool to have an Austrian name, so he named it Kitzhof which means " Goats (kids) House".
Simon and Alison are the fourth owners and took over in September 2005.
Many additions have been made to the building over the years but the original style has been kept. The cedar log alpine construction is unique to any other Inn in the area.
You get to the front garden and fire pit by crossing the pedestrian covered bridge (added in 2006) which crosses the brook.
Renovations were made to the pool area in 2007.

Your Hosts

Simon and Alison are originally from London, England via Oxfordshire. They bring warm European hospitality and style to the Kitzhof.

Simon, has had a varied career collecting many skills and talents along the way, all of which culminate in running the Inn.
Years of cooking experience ensure that your breakfast is wholesome and hearty.
He also has handyman and building skills as well as web design and photography.
Simon enjoys riding his Triumph Tiger, Cycling, Golf, Tennis, Skiing, Snow Shoeing, Photography and Web Design.

Alison is also a multi talented professional, bringing 20 years of running her own business in London and Oxfordshire to the Kitzhof.
She enjoys the Book Club, Yoga, Singing, Skiing and she also rides a Triumph Bonneville T100.

From time to time you will see Richard, Alison's Son and Simon's step son, who lives and works in London and is a keen Snowboarder, Kart Racer and F1 nut.

Millie & Amber are our boxer dogs. Mille is chief entertainments officer and general people greeter closely followed by the new addition to the familiy, Amber. The dogs normally get more attention than anyone else at the Kitzhof.
